Medication prescribing appears at 11-94% of direct-to-consumer telemedicine consultations. Up to 50% of teleconsultations may be accompanied by critical deviations from clinical guidelines, fraught with threats to the life and health of patients. Antibacterial therapy are recommended most often, but the level of incorrect prescribing reaches 12-38%. Implementation of external and internal quality control systems for telemedicine services is required. More researches should be done to include direct-to-consumer telemedicine consultations into clinical guidelines.
