Introduction. In recent years, the topic of professional burnout of doctors has become very discussed. Professional burnout is typical not only for Russian doctors, it is a global problem that has worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic and post-COVID times. Several publications have shown an association between PT and an increased number of medical errors, as well as suicidal moods.

Materials and methods. The authors analyzed the level of professional burnout among specialists with higher medical education (doctors) by conducting a questionnaire survey via e-mail, instant messengers, professional groups in social networks. The survey involved 1233 doctors of various specialties, who were identified through the professional Internet resources Uroweb.ru, the Academy of Obstetrics and Gynecology, DocWay.ru, Lortoday.ru, Proctoweb.ru.

Results. These studies have demonstrated a high degree of professional burnout - almost two thirds (72%) of 1233 doctors feel empty by the end of the working day, 84% count the days and hours until the weekend, noting a bad mood in the morning. 79% of doctors feel at their limit. 84.7% of doctors are afraid of making mistakes in providing medical care, 72.8% are afraid of being sued for mistakes. Every day, 29.3% of doctors think about leaving medicine, 12.1% and 14.5% very often and often.

Conclusions. The problem of PV can be considered relevant in Russian medicine, which requires the active attention of healthcare organizers, psychologists, psychotherapists, heads of medical institutions to develop a program of psychological assistance to doctors experiencing symptoms of PV. This will not only solve the personnel issue, but also improve the provision of medical care to the population.
