Introduction. Telemedicine technologies are increasingly being used in various areas of medicine to manage patients with various nosologies. Obstetrics is no exception, in particular the use of telemedicine technologies in the management of pregnant women with risk factors for preterm birth. To study the world experience, a search was carried out in Russian and international databases. Relevant articles were selected for detailed study. The purpose of the study – to search for publications on the use of telemedicine technologies in obstetric practice for the management of pregnant women with risk factors for preterm birth, to analyze and systematize, and on the base of the experience presented in the articles, to determine the acceptability, problems and prospects for the development of tele-obstetrics for the management of pregnant women with risk factors for preterm birth.

Materials and methods. A search was carried out in the international electronic database PubMed and the Russian electronic libraries CyberLeninka, eLIBRARY.RU.

Results. For the five-year period under review, from 2017 to 2021 with the help of electronic libraries, 15 relevant full-text articles were selected for detailed study. The analysis of the articles showed that 46.6% of scientific papers are devoted to description of the experience of using telemedicine technologies in assisting pregnant women, 33.3% describe the introduction of telemedicine applications, and 13.3% are devoted to the use of telemonitoring. 33.3% of the selected articles reflect the effectiveness of using automated pregnancy monitoring systems, 6.7% of the articles consider the methodology for creating databases, 6,7% give the legislative framework for integrating telemedicine into the obstetric service, and 6,7% are reviews.

Conclusion. The use of telemedicine technologies in obstetrics has good prospects, as it improves the availability, quality and safety of medical care, and reduces the psycho-emotional stress experienced by pregnant women during hospitalization.
