The article describes an experience with distance learning in medical higher educational establishment in the period of a humanitarian disaster. Interactive co-operation of a students and a teachers took place in the learning environment created in Moodle (a free and open-source software learning management system). This technology can be used as an additional tool for improvement of a classical methodology of learning, and as alternative solution in case of a humanitarian disaster.
